Dogpod was created in response to a fundraising initiative by the charity Blue Cross, known for its animal welfare work. They reached out to architects, designers, and artists to design unique dog kennels for an auction to support their cause. Dogpod emerged as a stylish and functional shelter, showcasing the creativity and compassion of its creators while raising funds for Blue Cross’ vital work in caring for animals.

The brief was broad: to create a dog kennel with originality, safety, sustainability, practicality, interactivity, and flexibility. From the very beginning, practicality was a key focus.

Dogpod needed to look good, but unlike many existing kennels, it needed to be more than just an empty shell. The kennel has been carefully crafted out of 12 pieces of wood and can be customised by the user to create an enclosed kennel or folded down flat, and anywhere in between.
